Pinnacles National Park is known for its amazing rock formations and caves. This is less popular compared to other national parks in California. I am shocked that I only learned about it recently. The park was formed due to tectonic plate movements. The rock formations are massive and I can only describe them as giant boulders shooting up from the ground. The caves are unique and they are considered as "talus caves". The caves were formed from rocks falling into canyons, creating tunnels that are now accessible to visitors.

GETTING THERE
It is located in Central California near the city of Hollister
4.5 hrs drive north of Los Angeles or 2.5 hours south of San Francisco

2.4 mi roundtrip, moderate hike, elevation 400ft

There is also an overflow parking lot 1mile away
We did the trail counter clockwise
This will take you to balconies cave first
Then walk up to the mountain with views of rock formations

In the Balconies Cave, expect to crouch down and scramble on rocks
It is dark inside so bring a flashlight

Beautiful views of rock formation
We only did a portion of this hike (1hour) because we were planning on doing another trail that will lead to the top of the mountains (High Peaks)
3. Condor Gulch Trail > High Peaks > Bear Gulch Reservoir > Bear Gulch Caves
